NCC Training on Friday: A Sense of Achievement
Though I had severe cough and a little fever, I still chose to report for NCC training. Under the kind guidance from both sergeants Zhiyang and Kia Hwa, I managed to do 5 standard pumpings, about 10 assisted chin-ups and 50 sit-ups in 2 minutes, which are considered a piece of cake for some people, but a breakthrough for myself. With this sense of achievement, I am more confident in NCC training than before.

Chinese Lesson on Friday: Proud to be Born in Chengdu
Our Chinese teacher taught us poems on Friday, when we learnt about the two famous ancient poets, Li Bai and Du Fu, who were both related to Chengdu in many ways. Du Fu lived in Chengdu before, while Li Bai was born in Jiangyou, a county near Chengdu. There are about 50,000 poems written by numerous poets in the Tang dynasty, which are like pop songs in those days. I am so proud to be born in Chengdu, and share the hometown with the two famous poets mentioned above.
