The Right Word: An essential book for the English language students which costs 20 bucks, and also a guanrantee for my standard British English on "CHENGDU TIME. The Panda City." (www.028time.com).

Greetings from Chengdu: 8 January 2007 saw Pan Pan's greeting card (on behalf of Chengdu Municipal People's Government) being delivered to my house which made me quite glad.

Back to NCC: Probably the most significant event throughout these three weeks. Thanks to sergeants Xiaoyao, Zhiyang and Kia Hwa (of course in a positive sense), who will be helping me, Kevin Ishak and Kevin Koh to embark on our journey to the Specialists' Course which will be held in July. I was also quite touched during yesterday's NCC training that Jonathan Lim Jun Hong actually shown his platoonmate spirit towards me by encouraging me not to give up, when we ran around the school. Besides, I challenged myself to finish doing all the 50 sit-ups despite extreme pain on my tummy and succeeded. A great sense of achievement for myself. The Hwa Chong Institution National Cadet Corps: A band of brothers.

A Weather Map published on this Monday's Straits Times: Temperatures in different regions of Asia can have such significant differences.

Warm Winter in Chengdu: The temperature in Chengdu reached 2 degrees celcius on 5 December 2005. However, as compared to last year's winter, it seemed to be a little wamer. It is already January 2007 and the temperaure in Chengdu is still 3 to 5 degrees celsius. Global warming or a gift from Mother Nature to the Land of Abundance?
