| Yesterday, my mum and I visited the Memories at Old Ford Factory museum. This is the place where the British surrendered to the Japanese on 15 February 1942. We bought a picture gallery of all the exhibited items (S), a set of PEACE MyStamp collection, and a souvenir pen. After the exhibition, we watched two documentaries produced by the National Archives of Singapore, titled Askar Melayu-Malay Soldier and Battle for Singapore. They revealed the story of how Singaporeans fought against the Japanese vividly with the help of many archival records. The visit was an awesome experience. The uncle at the reception counter was very couteous to make ourselves feel at home. Maybe this is what the government means by 'going the extra mile for the customer' or GEMS. If you are interested to visit Old Ford Factory, better hurry! from 2007 onwards, there will be admission fees for visitors to pay. However, admission is free for all in 2006.
